Lord Inchiquin

An Irish Lord
What Lord Inchiquin would have looked like

Lord Inchiquin is doubtless the 4th Earl of Inchiquin, who succeeded to the title on his father's death, 24th December, 1719, and died in 1777. The family seat was and is Dromoland Castle, Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare, which is not far from Doonass, where Carolan visited the Rev. Charles Massey. It is probable that this piece was composed on that occasion. ... O'Sullivan v 2 p 36.
