Jem the Miller - Sixth Untitled Tune

Notes

In source Y, p. 82 this tune has the title 'Jem the Miller'. Joyce noted that this tune'from Ned Goggin, the professional fiddler of Glenosheen Co. Limerick (1844 to 1850'). He writes concerning it: 'Thjis beutiful tune hjas a strong smack of Carolan at his best; though I do not think it was composed by him.' Joyce may have been to some extent influenced in this view by the title, which was certainly not the original one if the air is by Carolan. The style is not unlike his.
