The O'Hara Family Crest

The O'Haras were settled from a remote period of Co Sligo in the Barony of Leyney in that county whence it is sometimes known in Irish as Luighne Uí Eaghra. As was already mentioned, the head of the family was a Protestant who gave refuge and hospitality to the Bishop of Achonry when the bishop was ousted from his patrimony by the penal laws.
