Gealltanais Bainise - Wedding Promises

Wedding rings
Snaidhmeanna Ceiltigh - Celtic Knots

One or more of these promises may be recited by the couple together before or after the ring ceremony. They may memorize it, read it, or recite it phrase by phrase after the priest.

Mionnaimid seasamh le síocháin agus ghrá, croí le chroí agus lámh le lámh. Marcáil, A Spioraid, agus clois sinn anois, ag cinntiú é seo, ár Mhóid Naofa.

"We swear by peace and love to stand, heart to heart and hand in hand. Mark, O Spirit, and hear us now, confirming this, our Sacred Vow."

Agus/ nó - And/Or

Leis an chumhacht a thabhair Críost ó Neamh, go raibh tú i ngrá liom. Mar leanann an ghrían a thriall, go leana tú mé. Mar solas na súil, mar arán do na nochrach, mar shonas don chroí, go raibh do láithreacht liom, an duine a bhfuilim i ngrá leis/leí, go dtí go scarann an bháis ó chéile sinn.

"By the power that Christ brought from heaven, mayst thou love me. As the sun follows its course, mayst thou follow me. As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart, May thy presence be with me, Oh one that I love, 'til death do us part."

Seanfhocal - Irish Proverb

Ná siúl os mo chomhair, ní leanfainn. Ná siúl im' dhiaidh, ní threoróinn. Siúl lem' thaobh agus bí mo chara.

Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and just be my friend.
