The subject is possibly 'Sir Charles O'Hara, Knt., a native of Co. Mayo. He was a distinguished military officer in Spain, and was raised to the peerage of Ireland, aas Baron Tyrawly, 10 Januaary, 1706. In the following year, his lordship commanded the left wing of the allied army at the battle of Almanza, and remained in the Peninsula until the conclusion of the war, when he returned to Ireland, took his seat in the house of peers, and was constituted commander-in-chief of the fordces in that kingdom.'He died on 8th June, 1724, aged eighty-four, and is buried in St. Mary's Dublin [Burke's Extinct Peerage (1866) p.414.] ...O'Sullivan 2001 1 vol. edition p.270.
